Initially I thought it was a dolphin
I just remember being dragged along backwards. I was trying to feel its gills but I found its eye and I stuck my finger in and that's when it let go.
It is likely that the presence of the sick dolphin drew the sharks to the area. They will probably leave following its death and removal
It's a magic day here, really calm, flat, with perfect visibility from the sky. So we should have a really good chance of seeing something if it's there.
They're not normally there. It's a bit of an anomaly that they're in the Middleton bay area
It banged straight into me and it grabbed me by the leg and dragged me under the water

Eventually it took more of an interest in two other swimmers and swam towards them
Thankfully she took me into shore ... I don’t think I would have made it the rest of the way by myself.
It was much bigger than a dolphin when it came up. It banged straight into me - I realised what it was, it was a shark
