Buddy: Type here If a shooter scores a goal during a shootout he is not credited with it even though he must beat the goalie to score. i.e. this goal is contested. If a shooter scores into an empty net (uncontested) he IS given credit for it. Why? Full Article at Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
