Photo Galleries
Display images from your own archives, subscriptions, your own camera, or any other source on web, mobile, or tablet devices.
Gallery creation itself is done with our Smart Galleries tool (a close cousin of the Publisher Suite). Smart Galleries is a drag-and-drop gallery-making tool so intuitive that literally anyone can use it right away. It also features an intelligent automation component that can import relevant images to keep galleries fresh even after they’re deployed.
Gallery Apps come in 5 styles:
• Curated Mosaic (images laid out in a grid)
• Related Mosaic (same grid, but automatically populates with relevant images)
• Slideshow (click forward/back through the images)
• Widescreen (large-scale images like Boston Globe’s “Big Picture”)
• Touch (an interface for fancy mobile devices)
Trending Topics
Highlight your hottest content automatically. The Trending App finds the most-sought people, places, organizations, events, or anything else, and displays them as tiles (either grid or slider UI, your call) with thumbnails and relevant links from your choice of sources.
Story Timeline
Shows the lifecycle of a story in a compact, clickable chart. Just enter a search query and the app shows users how many articles covered the subject on any day in the past. Users can see trends over time and click through to archived articles from your choice of sources. It’s like Google Analytics for celebutantes.
Related Headlines
A dynamic list of links that you can put anywhere to keep users clicking.
This app automagically inherits your site’s CSS so it looks native. No unpleasant “free widget we found somewhere” aftertaste. And it provides only relevant links.
Search Headlines
Similar to Related Headlines above, only this app uses the search query entered by a user to generate a list of headlines relevant to that query.
Flyout
Promote increased engagement and time on site with an animated, highly relevant App that “flies out” when the user nears the bottom of the page promoting the next story. The links promote any subject you want.
Poll
Lets you create and deploy polls in seconds. Polls help you engage and promote sharing across social graphs. (Everyone wants to see their POV win!) Track the resulting data in your dashboard.
Twitter Activity
Displays the Twitter activity around the content on the page it’s placed. If there are no Tweets about the current page, it encourages the reader to be the first.
Tweet
This one lets you curate any single Tweet for use on your site. The app’s contextually aware so whenever you’re on a Twitter.com user profile and want to capture and embed a Tweet, just click it and then open the Publisher Suite Installer – the Tweet you’re looking at will be turned into an embeddable app.
Twitter Feed
Instantly create an embeddable, constantly-updating feed of any user’s Tweets. Go to any profile on Twitter.com, open the Publisher Suite Installer, and you’ve got an app!
Video Apps: YouTube and Vimeo
These two apps let you capture and curate any YouTube or Vimeo video on the fly. They’re smart lil’ buggers that automatically recognize the video you’re on and instantly turn the video into an app you can embed and manage from your Publisher Suite Dashboard.
Facebook Like
Lets users share your content with friends on Facebook. It’s contextually aware, so users can “like” individual pieces of content (which all link back to you). Track the resulting data and manage it all from the Publisher Suite.
Facebook Activity
This one displays your most engaging recent content, based on Facebook “like” activity, content shared from your site in Facebook, and comment-magnet stories. Manage it all right from the Publisher Suite.
Google Map
Lets you create and deploy Google Maps in seconds. Get all the benefits of Google Maps without adding more embed codes to your site.
