Mobile Apps
Developer: Brendan Dawes

Our first mobile application(!), this iOS app uses the Daylife Publisher Suite API to let users browse the news in a new way. Designed for serendipity, ANE draws content from hundreds of sources to find stories related to whatever the user initially searches. The result is an endlessly-clickable web of related news stories right in your pocket. It’s a way for curious readers to uncover more of what’s going on in the world.
Information Visualizations
Example: Doodlebuzz)

Another creation by Brendan Dawes, Doodlebuzz lets users draw their way to discovering the latest news on whatever topic they’re interested in. Enter a search query then “doodle” on the digital canvas with a mouse or a finger gesture, and the drawing you make will flower into a beautiful, navigable array of headlines. Each headline clicks through to a cluster of related stories, and more doodling will take you on from there. It’s an engaging, fascinating expansion of the ways we can consume news, and a testament to the creative power of the Daylife API in the hands of a developer with a vision.
