VALAICHENAI, SRI LANKA - DECEMBER 07: A Sri Lankan army soldier passes a group of displaced ethnic Tamils on December 7, 2006 in Valaichenai in eastern Sri Lanka. With Sri Lanka's peace process in tatters, government forces and rebels from the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), have been fighting all along their former ceasefire lines, as the country heads towards fullscale civil war. The fighting has driven thousands of people from their homes. More than 3,000 people have died in the renewed ethnic conflict this year, which has claimed more than 60,000 in decades of civil war.
