The US group Barr Pharmaceuticals has secured the backing of 72.67 percent of shareholder votes in Croatia's generic drug maker PLIVA, exceeding the minimum acceptance level of 50 percent plus one share, Croatian stock market authorities said Wednesday. The offer for PLIVA was to expire on Wednesday midnight (2200 GMT).The US drug firm has boosted its offer for the Croatian PLIVA company to USD 2.5 billion (1.9 billion euros).
