Israeli children play on August 24, 2008 on a boat near water measurement scales at the Sea of Galilee in northern Israel, which has seen a big decrease of its water level. The Jordan River supplies 95% of the water in the Sea of Galilee sweet lake. After four consecutive drought years and poor rain levels the current water level stands on -213.74 metres under the sea level. It corresponds of a decrease in 2.1 metres over the past 2 years, the Israeli water authority said. Until the end of 2008 it is expected to go below the black line (-214.4), which makes the water drawing impossible. The Sea of Galilee, which is the lowest sweet water source in the world, supplies 30% of the water consumption in Israel. The Israel authorities started taking steps as service broadcasts on TV calling people to save water.
