A Chinese dancer performs a sexy dance for customers at a karaoke in Xian, northern China's Shaanxi province 13 January 2007. China's popular karaoke parlors will have to begin paying royalties on the music videos they use beginning on January 1, as with around 100,000 karaoke parlours in China, earning ten billion yuan (1.25 billion USD) in annual revenue, the new ruling could generate 8 million yuan (one million dollars) in royalties for copyright holders each year if the payments are enforced successfully.
