A court sketch made 06 November 2006 shows former French rugby captain Marc Cecillon during his trial in Grenoble, in the French Alps, for the murder of his wife, whom he shot dead with a revolver during a party two years ago. Cecillon, 47, who was capped 46 times between 1988 and 1995 and captained the national side five times, faces life in prison if the jury finds that the act was premeditated. His lawyer says it was a crime of passion, committed under the influence of alcohol and nervous depression.
