LICHFIELD, UNITED KINGDOM - OCTOBER 09: The finishing touches have now been added to the new National Armed Forces Memorial at Alrewas, Staffordshire, England on 9 October, 2007. The six million GBP memorial, built in the grounds of The National Memorial Arboretum, is due to be opened by HM The Queen on Friday, seven years after the initial idea by the Ministry Of Defence. The memorial honours people killed on duty or as a result of terrorist action since the end of World War II. So far over 15,000 names have been carved in the Portland stone with room for more.
