Ronal Muwenda Mutebi, the king of the Baganda -- Uganda's most populous ethnic group -- waves to well wishers during his visit to a district northeast of Kampala on September 18, 2009. The violence that erupted in Kampala on September 10, 2009 and continued into Friday when police clashed with supporters of Ronald Muwenda Mutebi, the kabaka or traditional ruler of the Baganda tribe started after an attempt by President Yoweri Museveni's government to prevent Ronald Muwenda Mutebi, from attending a youth festival for fear of unrest. Police arrested more than 550 people in connection with two days of riots in Uganda's capital Kampala, as the death toll rose to 14.
