Paris, FRANCE:  Frederic Druart, a Kabyle-born Belgian homeless since six years, poses as he leaves his tent 28 December 2006 set up along the Canal Saint Martin in Paris, a few moments before meeting Omar Safsaf, the owner of a recently opened Parisian restaurant. Omar Safsaf hired Frederic after having seen a documentary on the tent city for homeless broadcast on a French television. On his tent, Frederic hang a placard reading 'Fred, cook, homeless since 6 years'. The owner of the restaurant also offered him a 19 square meter room. A small association, Les Enfants de Don Quichotte (translated as 'The Children of Don Quixote'), erected the temporary camping ground as a stunt to draw attention to the plight of the estimated 86,500 homeless in France.
