Applied Materials was distinguished as one of the country's leading green power purchasers and one of only three organizations nationwide to receive a Leadership Award for the on-site generation of green power. An example of one of the company's on-site solar power applications is the 2 megawatt rooftop-and parking lot-based solar array system at Applied Materials' research campus in CA that consists of approximately 8,000 wafer-based solar panels and represents one of the largest corporate solar power installations in the United States.
