In his complaint, V K Mohanrengan of Apna Engineers said the mail, sent in his name, told his friends that he was stuck in a hotel room in London without money or travel documents. "It was worded so well that my friends thought I was actually in distress. Pointing out that the Indian embassy in the UK, too, had been contacted for help, they were asked to send $1200 to an address in Nigeria through Western Union Money Transfer and not to put the money in any account" Mohanarengan told The Times Of India.
