While serving as super-lawyer, Mr Bleich also found time for pro bono work with the homeless, immigrants and habeas corpus petitioners to the courts. "All of these accomplishments don't really describe what those on either side of the gavel know: he's one of the most down-to-earth, easygoing and likeable people - and that will be important in Australia" Senator Kerry said. Mr Bleich's nomination must be voted on by the Senate and so he stuck carefully to the script.
