He said, 'Ok, just keep a running tally.' So I did. I kept working for him, hoping with the promise there would be payments later. Of course the book deal comes out, the one that I negotiated for him. That deal comes together and I say, 'Can you pay me now?' And he fires me. That's when I said, 'Enough's enough.'
