Miller, as documented in a Pacific Daily News article published Oct. 11, 2005, got Silvas to think about a career in chiropractic when they were in American Samoa for the 1997 Mini South Pacific Games. "Mike has always loved sports and his practice in the Bay Area developed a great reputation both with the sports community and the medical community ... So when he was hired by the Golden State Warriors, it became a perfect fit." John Lizama was Silvas' coach in American Samoa for the Mini SPG.
