''We recognise there is a historical responsibility on our part to lower the carbon emission keeping in mind our long history of industrialisation,'' Mr Wadvani told reporters here. "The public and private sectors worldwide should work in unison to usher in a low carbon industrial revolution. The United Nations Conference on Climate Change in Copenhagen, slated to be held on December 7, must lead to a globally legally binding treaty with regard to lowering of the Green House Gases" he added. Making it clear that the low carbon emission on the part of developed countries is not going to impede their development process he said, ''It's not about constraining the development process of the under-developed countries but carrying on the process of development in a low carbon manner.'' Describing the 'Seal the Deal' treaty at Copenhagen to be an all encompassing one, Mr Wadvani said, ''The Copengahen treaty is supposed to be an all-encompassing one and enhance the lowering of carbon emission mechanism set forth by the Kyoto Protocol.''
