Smith of Magic City Chess U, who, along with the the Metro Birmingham Branch of the NAACP, offered free chess lessons to area students. "If you think chess is for nerds, then you'd better start calling Will Smith and Jamie Foxx nerds because they are huge chess fans" Smith said.
