Fighting in eastern Congo has displaced hundreds of thousands of civilians in recent weeks, with 386 familes taking shelter in the Don Bosco school compound. There are currently 43 cholera cases among the total of 1,519 people seeking refuge at the school.
For this, we have to thank the UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown and his Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling. Our hats are off to them and, if Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson follows their advice, we could finally have found our wider firebreak.
