It's a trickier path for McCain to walk because he's best when he's above the fray and talking as a statesman rather than a partisan ... It's pretty clear that McCain does not have the same level of regard for Obama that he does for, say, Sen. [Hillary Rodham] Clinton, and that disregard tends to lurk right below the surface. I'd be surprised if Obama's advisers are not trying to find a way to goad him into overreacting.
