Still, the writer and director of films such as "Clerks," "Dogma" and "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" isn't ready to be called an author. "When I think of an author ... I think of John Grisham, who sits down to write a book, or Stephen King, who's like, 'I'm going to sit down and write a book because that's what I do for a living.' Putting me in the same category is just weird." How, then, did a self-professed nonauthor wind up publishing two books?
