Laura Bertole Viale, the general prosecutor, told the hearing: “I request the confirmation of the first-degree sentence for David Mills, which does not merit the reduction of sentence.” She accused Mills of demonstrating “corruption” and alleged that he had lied under oath in order to protect Mr Berlusconi in two trials in which he had been a defendant. "David Mills was corrupted by Silvio Berlusconi with $600,000 in exchange for two false testimonies.
