What we have to have is a system that reflects the needs, requirements and indeed the values of Scottish society." He continued: "I long for the day when I won't be just writing letters or making phone calls to Alan Johnson or Phil Woolas to try and persuade them that their latest crazy decision needs to be amended. I long for the day, as First Minister in the Scottish Parliament, that we can legislate for an immigration system that reflects the priorities, the needs and the attitude of this country."
