These guys are in my batting practice and we work on the first couple of rounds hitting the ball away, then we do have a round where I tell them it's a 3-1, 2-0 counts that they can drive the ball ... I work on having them hit the ball out of the park so it gets them familiar with certain counts that they should look to drive the ball out of the park. 
It's something I learned when I was first getting up with the big league guys ... I learned it from (Mark) McGwire and (Jose) Canseco and it kind of stuck with me. We have three different groups. Each group knows their limitations. My group two, when they're on, to watch them swing, it's fun to watch how far they hit the ball.
It starts with the first guy, usually Smitty (lead-off hitter Sean Smith) has a good at-bat to open the game and we feed off of that ... I've always said hitting's contagious and we've just been getting good pitches to hit. Some are long drives that are carrying out of here and some are no-doubt home runs. Everyone's putting a good swing on it.
