While Fike mostly raced on asphalt ovals, Kinser earned his racing diploma on the country's dirt tracks, competing in the World of Outlaws, a top promotion itself. "You have to start learning all over again. I got to a point where I thought I was good in a sprint car and was running good, but starting over is difficult" Kinser said. While there is little comparison between racing on dirt and pavement, Kinser said starting on dirt taught him good habits, especially when it came to car control.
