Part of Hammersmith Tube station in west London has been sealed off by transport bosses. Bob Crow, leader of the Rail and Maritime Transport Union, has claimed traces of anthrax or asbestos may have been found during a bar refurbishment.

Tube track plan 'risking safety'

Plans to cut track inspections on a stretch of the Tube will risk public safety, a rail union has said. Track checks on the Jubilee Line extension are to be reduced from twice a week to once, officials confirmed.
