Reds team awards honor Phillips, Arroyo

CINCINNATI -- Reds players were honored on Friday with local postseason awards for their play in 2009. Second baseman Brandon Phillips was named winner of the Ernie Lombardi Award as the club's Most Valuable Player.

Honestly, I'm not thinking about it. If I got traded before Opening Day, I'd be more surprised than when I was traded from Boston [to the Reds in March 2006].
