Martin Johnson said in The Independent:

I think the players understand the nature of the challenge ... I could sit down and lecture them for half an hour at a time, but when I was a player, I preferred to be left alone in the 24 hours before a game. There are very few magic speeches I remember from coaches – Ian McGeechan with the Lions in 1997 sticks in the mind, but there aren't too many others. By the time a coach gets to point seven in the build-up to a game, people tend to have lost focus.
