The Green Bay Packers are preparing to start their third center of the season. Undrafted rookie Evan Dietrich-Smith got all the work there in practice on Tuesday and could start Thursday against the Detroit Lions.

Jason Spitz's season is over. The Green Bay Packers placed their starting center on injured reserve late Saturday, days after coach Mike McCarthy said Spitzs injured lower back wasnt making progress.
