More candidate filings for state, local offices

Ashland — Candidates seeking local and state offices are continuing to file to seek election in 2010. Candidates could begin filing their official paperwork to seek election next year on Nov. 4. The filing deadline for primary races is 4 p.m. Jan. 26.

Geneva mourns slain mother, daughter

...and her daughter were fatally stabbed late Thursday or early Friday in their apartment at 148 N. Main St. Buchel's boyfriend, John Edward Brown, 35, of Palmyra, Wayne County, has been charged with first-degree murder. He pleaded not guilty on Monday.
