Tata Motors Ltd’s luxury car arm Jaguar-Land Rover (JLR) reported a cash profit of £22 million (around Rs169 crore) for the September quarter, compared with a loss of £49 million in the June quarter.

Man dies and son injured in crash

A man died and his son suffered minor injuries when their Land Rover crashed in North Yorkshire. Police said the vehicle left the road between Lofthouse and Pateley Bridge at Gouthwaite and collided with a tree, coming to rest on its roof.

Tata snubs Lord Mandelson over electric car loan

The Indian conglomerate Tata has snubbed Lord Mandelson, the business secretary, rejecting a £10m loan for a technical centre in the Midlands. Mandelson announced the loan last month, saying that Britain was backing Tata’s research into electric cars.
