Adam Jones Wins the Gold Glove: First for the O's since '99

Orioles' Jones wins Gold Glove

Orioles center fielder Adam Jones became the first Oriole to win a Rawlings Gold Glove in 10 years when he was named today as one of three American League outfielders to be awarded the annual prize for outstanding defense.

The Rawlings Gold Glove Awards probably will be announced early next week, and there are rumblings that Adam Jones is about to become the first Orioles outfielder to win a Gold Glove since Paul Blair back in 1975.

As you probably know if you're familiar with my other blog, Baseball & The Boogie Down, I'm a huge Yankees fan. I was really excited back in 2001 when the Yankees signed Mike Mussina. It is definitely one of Brian Cashman's best free agent signings.
