VH1 Storytellers: Foo Fighters
It's a reflection of what I'm listening to ... For the last five years, I'm listening to bands like Foo Fighters, Lifehouse. I love Nickelback, I really like them more than the critics seem to.
I think, to me, the most important thing was to give the audience a break from the band, not even that we need to stop playing. I feel like the world doesn't need another FOO FIGHTERS record right now.
Had I considered it as a career, I would have spent more than five days on that tape ... and I probably would have called it something other than Foo Fighters.
Something dawned on me when I was reading Sunday's New York Times: Dave Grohl is the greatest rock musician in the world today. Don't believe me? The man is dominating November music releases. Here we go: Nirvana's Reading DVD, Foo Fighters' Greatest Hits, and new work with Them Crooked Vultures.
I've been thinking about doing a tour next year -- a very quick tour -- with Taylor Hawkins from the Foo Fighters ... He's like one of my best blood brothers! So we might do that. That sounds like fun.
Josh and I had been talking about working together again for a long time ... After I left Queens of the Stone Age to go back to the Foo Fighters, I realized the connection I had with Josh was something special that kind of only comes once in a lifetime -- when you meet that musician that understands you...

I remember when my dad called me -- he's like a hundred years old -- and said my name related to the Foo Fighters was a clue in the New York Times' crossword puzzle
So, Foo Fighters, they’re punk rock, right?
