Move the Detroit auto show from the bleak cold of January to the sunny warmth of late August. The purpose of the NAIAS should not be limited to just selling cars. It could and should be used to sell Detroit as well -- a difficult task in blizzard conditions but an easy task in the warmth of August.
No one is naïve enough to think the industry does not have challenges moving forward ... Certainly we are encouraged by the growth but, in the larger picture, these companies year after year validate the view that if one is going to showcase product and plans, Detroit is a major draw and a necessary sto...
