We had our chances to score. They’re a good team ... They’re big, they’re physical and they’ve got a lot of veterans. We got chasing our tail toward the tail end but we had some moments where we had glorious chances and we just didn’t capitalize.

KC23, Agree about the scouts and Manchester as well. The fact is, Lombardi is the one that made sure that everyone was on the same page, and that included Mark Morris, the scouts, and TM. The bottom line? He is accountable for the paint drying hockey...

“The Joffrey has a phenomenal history, and in my time there was an incredibly eclectic repertoire. We did Ashton and Fokine but also Mark Morris, Twyla Tharp, William Forsythe. But in the last 20 years the company did very little new work.” Mr. Wheater...

I thought that was a real cheap hit. I really do. That was totally uncalled for ... That’s the type of stuff you’ve got to get out of hockey. A guy that was looking the other way … hopefully it’s not too long an injury. But when a guy is blue on the ice it really gets under your skin.
Oftentimes people take it for granted when things are going well. We tend to forget about the guys that really make the difference in the game and it all starts in goal
There's a good relationship between Jonesy and Zats. There's no animosity, there's no jealousy ... That's an ideal situation when you can get both guys playing well and pulling for each other.
It's a huge plus. You're not burning anybody out and one guy is trying to hold the fort while the other guy is getting a rest ... There's a mutual respect that's built between goalies, too. You're trying to make sure you hold up your end of the bargain when you get your opportunity to be in the net and ...
We are finding ways to win tight games ... Winning was elusive early on (this season) but we are making headway and moving in the right direction. Puck luck happens when teams work hard and are determined in their efforts. It's a good feeling to see this bunch enjoying themselves. Their efforts are bein...
This afternoon, we played pretty well after a three hour and ten minute bus trip to Bridgeport
It’s the way the league goes sometime
Credit their goalie, he played an unbelievable game ... As our guys said, there’s nothing to shoot at. He’s a monster in there. Every time it’s just him and you and the puck he just takes up so much space, there’s really not a lot to shoot at.
It took some skillful shooting in the shootout to come out on top. You’ve got to give a lot of credit to our goaltender, Jeff Zatkoff. He did a great job ... It was a real emotional win and I thought everybody worked hard.
We’re beginning to taste what it’s like to win and hopefully the guys realize it doesn’t happen easily ... This is a tough league to play in and most nights it doesn’t matter if you’re in first place or last place. Teams can give you a run.
It’s been a challenge trying to find that chemistry and the high compete level based on where we’re at as a hockey team ... We’re still feeling the growing pains of learning the game as we’re going along but we’re making fewer mistakes at this stage.
We’ll have some time to see what they’ve got
We put on a little burst after we met on the bench during a stoppage in play and I wanted our guys to know that mediocrity is not acceptable at this stage of the season ... We’ve had to dig out of a hole and this is no time to just go out and go through the motions.
I'd seen the brilliant trailer on YouTube and knew this was going to be a massively high-profile project
He’s a smart defensive player. He’s one of the first guys over the boards at key times during the games because of his steady, reliable play ... He plays to his strengths, and if you look at his best assets, he’s good positionally and he blocks shots.
His willingness to put himself secondary to his team automatically makes him and extremely popular guy in the locker room ... Sometimes you don’t have to say a whole lot to show that you’re willing to sacrifice yourself for the good of the team.
We’ve played in a lot of tight games and we’ve had a taste of what it’s like to grit it out and find a way to win
We’ve seen a lot of them. They play a real gritty style. They’re very quick to pucks and they play a smothering type of defense. When they’re on their game, they’re awfully tough to find space against ... It’s a bit of a chess match at times. They’re well-coached and they work their tails off. When you’...
I think we’ve had better defensive efforts, which translates into more offensive opportunities ... I think our compete level is improving each time out and we seem to be making fewer critical mistakes at key times.
We’ve had excellent goaltending and different guys are stepping up to help us in the goal-scoring department ... It’s been scoring by committee and that’s exactly what has to happen to get ourselves moving forward and improving.
This win gave us a successful weekend
Zatkoff did a wonderful job in net ... The game went back and forth and when we need him, he was there.
We beat a good hockey team tonight ... We’re back to .500 and we have some young guys building confidence.
