Rick DiPietro injury update
We want to make sure we don’t do anything stupid
Obviously with the seven or eight days off we were trying to kick it back into full gear, I might have irritated it a little bit. Nothing major to report
It's like anything, you fear the worst and hope the best and this is as close to the best as possible ... This is a big thing we're battling back from here and we don't want to do anything foolish to ruin all the hard work we've put into it.
Obviously, I'd rather be watching from Vancouver, but I hope they win . . . and continue to play well ... It's tough. This is something I was looking forward to from the time I got off the plane from Torino, so you watch and wish you were there playing in it.
It didn't work out, but I'm looking forward to hopefully getting a chance to do it in Russia
It was an unbelievable experience
As far as my body feels, (the break) was good. My leg feels good and my body feels good and I'm looking forward to being back and getting this thing going ... I'm not sure what's going on with (the next Olympics), but all I can control is to play as well as I can and try to stay healthy.
It's tough. It's something I was looking forward to from the time I got off the plane from Torino
You can't say that we're not working hard ... I think the emphasis for us is continue to get pucks to the net, continue to outwork teams. At some point these pucks that are laying around the crease are going to go in.
We need a spark, something to turn it around in a hurry
The key for us is to stay upbeat, stay positive ... Take the things that we did well from this game and move on. There's no time to pout. It's about getting back on track and winning as many games as you can going into the stretch.
There's no time to pout ... It's about getting back on track and winning as many games as you can going into the stretch.
It was just a bad game all around ... When we don't play our game, things like that happen.
That's a game you hope you don't look back on at the end of the season and say those were two points we should've had that cost us the playoffs ... but we'll learn from our mistakes and get right back at it.
Any loss is tough, but to play the second period like we did and come out in the third and not get the result we were looking for is tough ... It's a game that you hope you don't look back at the end of the regular season and those two points we should have had cost us the playoffs.
It came through a screen and snuck through me
You hope you don't look back at the end of the season and say that's two points we should have had that cost us the playoffs ... Hopefully we'll learn from our mistakes tonight.
There's different circumstances now
Like I've said all along, the biggest thing for us right now is wins ... This was a complete game with a lot of smart decisions. The hard work is paying off.
I'm taking as much Vitamin C as I can to make sure I stay healthy
As much as this has been a bad thing, it's been a good thing as far as being able to step back, realize how lucky I am to be a professional athlete, all those things you take for granted coming to the rink every day ... This is hopefully a learning experience, and I'm happy that it's almost over. When w...
When we can stop talking about this, it will be a great day
I'm trying not to cry on the ice ... I told myself I wouldn't cry. But it's an emotional time for me, and it's been a long time coming. It's been a rough road -- to get the win is amazing.
