I thought the Emmerton line was good ... Nyquist gave us a spark; Andersson was good, made good decisions.
I couldn’t ask for any better than the coaches I have ... I suppose I could get Mike Babcock, but I suppose he’s busy right now.
I like the points, to tell you the truth, because you need them
If you don't get them, you're not going anywhere in the standings. But you always like to have records and stuff like that.
It had to be deflating for them because we hadn't done much
He’s the best two-way player in hockey, bar none ... That’s because of his commitment without the puck and his faceoffs and his strength and his battle level and all the intangible things he has beside his skill set and his vision. Those things are God-gifted, the other stuff he’s earned.
Since I've been here Pav's always been able to do that ... His commitment to the other side of the game, he's gotten better and better and better. To me, that's put him into the upper echelon of players in the league. He's the best two-way player in hockey, bar none.
I like the points, to tell you the truth, because if you don't get them you're not going anywhere in the standings ... You always like to have crazy stuff like (the winning streak record), but the bottom line is we got a game tomorrow and we got to find a way to win the game because the standings are so...
He’s an incredible, incredible player ... He continues to be a dominant player on the offensive end.
You always like to have records
I like the points, because you need them
He's earned his way in the lineup, earned his way as a regular, and he's been good for us ... He plays hard, he's physical and when he's strong on the puck he's effective. He's a good penalty killer, has a good hockey mind. We just keep after him to be as physical as he can be.
Last year I dressed Drapes instead of Millsie in Buffalo ... Obviously, it's tough for Millsie. I hadn't thought about it in advance. I promised Drapes he was playing. His family was coming to the game (from Toronto). I hadn't done a whole lot of thinking prior to that.
Obviously, it was tough for Millsie ... I hadn’t thought about it in advance. I promised Drapes he was playing, his family was coming to the game (from Toronto). In the end, (Miller) didn’t get to play. Here’s an opportunity for him, so we’ll do our part.
It’s always nice to have streaks and all that, but you need to get two points ... All you got to do is look at the standings. If you don’t keep winning in our division, you fall out of things in a hurry.
It’s great, don’t get me wrong, I’m thrilled
If you don't keep winning in our division, you have a way to fall out of things in a heck of a hurry ... That's what it's about, that's what our focus has to be. We got to continue to get points at home.
I want to win ... For me, that's how simple it is. It's always nice to have streaks and all that but you need to get two points. All you got to do is look at the standing board. It has nothing to do with the streak it has to do with the standings.
The standings probably don't show the kind of team they are ... They're healthier now and they're going to be a handful. They play fast, I like the way they play.
They spent some money in the offseason ... They've got a real good coach and general manager, done a good job for a long period of time. They've had a ton of injuries.
I want to win tomorrow — for me that's how simple it is ... It's always nice to have streaks but we need to get two points. All you have to look at is the standings and if you don't keep winning in our division, you have a way of falling out of things in a hurry.
