Obviously, he has some ice water in his veins
Knicks center Eddy Curry (left knee surgery) was inactive. Coach Mike D'Antoni said Curry will need three or four more practices before he's ready to play.
That was a pretty good fourth quarter, I know that much
How long would Mike D'Antoni have tolerated John Starks and Anthony Mason before exiling them?
He was terrific. Mostly defense is heart and brains, and he has both. A good combo and he's quick ... The biggest thing is he wants to do it. When you put you mind to it like he does and he's always ready, good things happen.
New York has been lacking a winner in terms of the Knicks for some time, so people are hungry and anxious, but Mike D'Antoni will always do his share to make his team competitive, exciting and the players will play for him
There were a lot of too's out there. They were too big, too quick, too good, and the road trip a little too long ... I thought the effort was there. We tried to do it. We just weren't good enough.
My agent gave me a list of teams that he felt like were interested in me, and this is the team I wanted to really come to. With what (Mike D'Antoni) brings to his teams and his style of basketball, and what I've been through, I feel like this is the perfect situation for me. I'm thrilled to be here.
He's playing well, he's giving us a lot of energy
Mike D'Antoni is a huge fan of Eddie ... Mike told me on more than one occasion that his greatest regret was letting Eddie go.
When Toney was on the court, we played a lot better ... He hit a big 3-pointer for us and played with a lot of energy.
Mike D'Antoni hinted today about playing the young guys from here on in
I thought we competed, that's what we talked about today. And it's a lot more fun to play this way
Danilo Gallinari takes this with ease. Mike D'Antoni says that he is the best shooter he has ever seen and when he gets hot, the guy can't miss.
Toney Douglas came in and did a great job, Bill Walker. You can't play the game without energy and hustle. You just can't do it ... They came in and gave us that little bit...after we were down so many, it's hard to make it up.
They just got out and played Mike D'Antoni basketball ... They got out and got a lot of easy fast-break points. That's what helped them win the game.
Toney Douglas came out and did a great job. So did Bill Walker ... You can't play the game without much energy and hustle. You just can't do it. (Walker and Toney) came in and gave us a little bit and they fought. After we were down so much, it was hard to make it up.
It's out of my control and Coach (Mike D'Antoni) always tells me to try to control the things I can control and I think the overall message was that nobody was taken off a team with a sub-.500 record ... So that means one thing: We've got to get some more victories, and that's what we'll go after right ...
I still think (the potential) is pretty high
That's not our problem ... We've been able to score here from the time Mike D'Antoni walked into the arena. We did it with Amar'e (Stoudemire) out for a whole year. We did it when we traded all the other guys. We did it when Mike left. We're doing it this year. We have to get better in other areas.
I think our defense was good throughout the entire game. We really have to make our shots to beat a team like the Spurs and tonight we didn't do it
Coaches are mostly great if you're playing really well
I haven't had Eddy for any length of time
