Although MP Diane's Abbott's 'racist tweet' (which I'd rather call an expression of her opinion) came at a time when we should have still been concentrating on the politics of Stephen Lawrence's case, the actual meaning between her generalised...

How can I celebrate when I know that this day could have come 18 years ago if the police who were meant to find my son's killers [had not] failed so miserably to do so?

We have no current intention to disband the team investigating the murder of Stephen Lawrence. We are now reviewing what further lines of inquiry are available.
All I can think about is Stephen and that perhaps we will finally get justice for him.
The other people involved in the murder of Stephen Lawrence should not rest easily in their beds
I’ve waited 18 years. I look forward to seeing justice at last. It has been a very long road.
The matter of most concern is whether or not the clear evidence of the payment of money by Clifford Norris supports the suggestion that his evil influence must have been brought to bear on the Stephen Lawrence investigation. His presence in the background clearly raises much suspicion.
The murder of Stephen Lawrence was not only a tragedy for a talented young man and his family, it was a wake-up call to all of us who believe Britain is - and always must be - a country where everyone is shown respect irrespective of race, culture or faith.
Emotion such as sympathy for the Lawrence family has no part to play. Equally anger at the nature of the attack on Stephen Lawrence cannot guide your decision.
But we have pledged not to disrupt the Stephen Lawrence trial. Members involved with that trial will work normally.
This was the paper package that had been in with a bag that also contained Stephen Lawrence’s black jacket in November of 1995.
Given that there was this two-week gap between the offence and the seizure of the clothes I was reluctant to do the transfer of fibres from Stephen Lawrence on to the suspects. That and with the fact that I understood the attack was brief and contact was minimal.

These Gary Dobson exhibits ... were then placed in the same store where the Stephen Lawrence items had previously been stored?
And they were handled by people who’d been handling the Stephen Lawrence items, yourself, and they passed across the same areas where the Stephen Lawrence packages and items had passed across?
Is the upshot of all of this, however it happened, the clothing from Stephen Lawrence that was most heavily blood stained, and therefore might contaminate other things, remained in unsealed packages while you dealt with it?
Eyewitness: Stephen Lawrence murder attack took ten seconds
It seems Duwayne Brooks may have been ahead of Stephen Lawrence when the group converged on them. But in any event Duwayne managed to run off, pausing to look back and shout something like, 'Get up and run, Steve.' Duwayne Brooks managed to get away. Stephen Lawrence did not manage to get away.

The fibres and fragments detected upon the clothing taken from his house are the result of contamination when the garments were in police custody, not from any contact with Stephen Lawrence
The position and angle of the wounds suggest that Stephen Lawrence was likely to have been upright when the wound to the right side was inflicted, but may have been lying on the ground when stabbed to the left shoulder.
At the time Stephen Lawrence was being attacked, Gary Dobson was at home at his parents' house. He is innocent of this charge.
the only reasonable conclusion to be drawn is that David Norris, as well as Gary Dobson, participated in the attack on Stephen Lawrence
It consists of the finding of textile fibres, blood and hair linked to Stephen Lawrence on clothing seized from the defendants
It is our case when you consider them together, and in context with other evidence in the case, that the only reasonable conclusion that can be drawn is that David Norris as well as Gary Dobson participated in the attack on Stephen Lawrence.
At the time that Stephen Lawrence was being attacked Gary Dobson was at home in his parents’ house.
