It was a great performance and I know the captain and coach were pretty pleased we played so well. It was important to get a win under the belt after England have dominated us in the last five ODIs. Most of the guys now have good form and confidence behind them

After that England tour we had a massive discussion about where we went wrong, one-on-ones with each other and really focused on doing the basics
My dad inspired me to love all kinds of sport and taught me to swim and play rugby and cricket. He is a sport fanatic – he was an EP track athlete and captained the athletics team to Taiwan in 1983. AB de Villiers is my role model because he has an excellent batting technique and is a good fielder.
Obviously, there is responsibility. There is huge responsibility on me and Sehwag when experienced players like (Daniel) Vettori, AB de Villiers and (Paul) Collingwood are not there and we are ready for that

You have world class batsmen in Jacques Kallis and AB de Villiers batting at No 3 and 4. They have all the shots in their repertoire to benefit from such a situation and I don’t believe a big hitter would have fared any better
In the last Test of the South Africa-Australia series in Cape Town, Ashwell Prince and AB de Villiers both scored 150 or more without ever batting together in the match. This seemed quite unique to me and I would just like to know if this has ever happened before.
