My dad had shown me how to read tablature, so I realized the numbers go along with the frets on the guitar ... I went online and learned five AC/DC songs and some Green Day songs that same day. But I pretty much took my own path and tried to make those songs my own, right off the bat.
It's gonna be all hard rock. You're not gonna hear mashups of AC/DC and Lil Wayne.
Just based on the AC/DC show, there's over $10 million of spinoffs based on hotel stays, based on restaurants and based on merchandise that is sold at the stadium itself, based on the number of jobs it creates, both full time and part time
There's something eminently rock 'n' roll about a major arena-sound production ... I think about seeing AC/DC a few months ago — and it was awesome. There's a sonic benefit to seeing a show indoors sometimes. I love Red Rocks, and it has its own obvious attributes, however the power of the indoor arena ...
It was opened by James Brown and we had 60 to 70 bands playing. There was AC/DC, Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morisette. I can just reel out names. The main event was from 12 noon to midnight, but there were other side shows after that too. It was a 24/7 party
We wanted to make a big rock record that translates the same excitement I felt when I heard AC/DC's Highway to Hell for the first time, combined with the dark intrigue of Alice Cooper's Welcome to My Nightmare
I think we freak out a lot of hip-hop groups backstage...before we go on to get pumped up, we listen to AC/DC, Nirvana...we just listen to a lot of different stuff
We'll schedule around AC/DC and we'll probably end up doing the NAB Cup over a two- or three-week period for the first round
