I slam Jeff Francoeur a lot for the things he does poorly, but I should be fair and note one thing he does really well, and that's kill runners from the outfield. MLB.com has a feature on that today. Most interesting quote comes from Andre Dawson, wh Full Article at MSNBC

Andre Dawson has a bruised knee and is listed as day-to-day (pause). Aren't we all?
I looked forward to Day 1 of Spring Training ... I had a throwing program in the offseason. I always looked forward to the first day of cutoffs and relays. You take pride in yourself.
Well, I mean unless you go out there and you're Superman -- you're Andre Dawson, you're Ernie Banks, you're in the Hall of Fame -- then it's going to be tough
Every day, he comes out and he's working on his strength ... When I say strength, it's working on his long throwing and his accuracy. His accuracy is the thing. The strength and carry are always going to be there. You want to make sure you're not short-hopping plays at the plate.
Superman or you're Andre Dawson, Ernie Banks or [in the] Hall of Fame, then it's going to be tough
That's one of the intangibles in becoming a good ballplayer ... He's very proud of that. He enjoys throwing. It's something he looks forward to. He has all the confidence in the world in his throwing arm.
No player in baseball history worked harder, suffered more, or did it better than Andre Dawson. He's the best I've ever seen.
He played on both sides of the field, he wasn't just a DH ... And he put numbers up, did it on a consistent basis. You're talking about one of the premier power hitters of his era.
I turned him on a few minutes ago and they were talking about Andre Dawson going into the HOF as an Expo
After nine years, it starts to lose its luster and you start to wonder if it's ever going to happen, and you start to think probably not ... It's a tough ticket to get into the Hall of Fame, and rightfully so. If you don't have those magic totals, very few guys get in.
Andre Dawson's Hall of Fame career belongs to every one of his fans, in every city across the country ... The logo selection is only important from an historical standpoint, as the Museum has a responsibility to properly interpret the game's history. Every Hall of Fame plaque lists all of the teams wher...
I was warned about it by other Hall of Famers
Andre Dawson to enter Hall of Fame as Expo
Not quite ... I had some incentives and made most of them and ended up making $1 million, just $200,000 less than the year before.
So we had heard about each other, but didn't meet until Spring Training in 1976. We were picking up balls in the batting cages, and when we got to the last ball we looked at each other and it was like 'You're Andre Dawson, I'm Warren Cromartie. Cool.' That was just a monster team we had out there in Den...
I respect the Hall of Fame’s decision to put an Expos logo on my cap, and I understand their responsibility to make sure the logo represents the greatest impact in my career ... Cubs fans will always be incredibly important in my heart, and I owe them so much for making my time in Chicago memorable, as ...
I'm very, very happy for Andre Dawson. I was surprised Roberto Alomar didn't get in. Maybe he and I will get in next year.
I respect the Hall of Fame's decision to put an Expos logo on my cap, and I understand their responsibility to make sure the logo represents the greatest impact in my career
I was hoping that three of us would be elected ... First off, congratulations to Andre Dawson on getting in. But I thought Roberto Alomar would go in as well. I thought it would be cool to go in with him because I kind of watched him grow up when I played with his dad in Texas. Hopefully we'll go in tog...
It was a little gut-wrenching for me to hear that but it's their decision ... I can proudly say that because Chicago was my preference.
I'm very, very happy for Andre Dawson, but I am surprised that Roberto Alomar did not make it, but his time is coming too.
I'm disappointed. I can proudly say that because Chicago was my preference.
Congrats to Andre Dawson , not this year for Edgar Martinez
I'm disappointed. I can proudly say that because Chicago was my preference.
