Andrew Strauss was the only viable option. But he will need the support of all the other players, and he will need to be rated by the other players too - which is crucial for any leader. There are egos in that dressing room who could cause more problems for the new captain. Not least of the difficulties will be how to handle KP when he returns to the rank and file 
In Andrew Strauss, they have gone for a safe pair of hands. But by appointing him they have given themselves another problem. When they made KP captain the selectors said it was because they wanted somebody good enough for the Test and one-day teams. But he isn't good enough for one-day internationals.
Andrew Strauss has agreed to lead the team to the Caribbean. He led the England team with distinction in 2006 when Michael Vaughan was injured.

We saw that from Andrew Strauss and Paul Collingwood they rotated the ball well. Where the Indians have balanced themselves well is one rotating the strike, but also scoring boundaries and putting bowlers under pressure. First innings we found that quite hard to work.
