I am delighted to be part of the IPL and this tournament will be a learning experience for me. I am looking forward to playing along with the game’s greats like Adam Gilchrist, Andrew Symonds and Herschelle Gibbs
For a young player who may get lured by the money over there but still wants to play for Australia, it mightn't be a good thing
Andrew Symonds was a great player, you can ask anyone that has played with him and he is one of the best ... We probably display similar game styles in terms of batting with a power side to our game but it depends on the role I am called upon to play in any series.
IPL is fantastic, great to enjoy and gives an opportunity to talk cricket with a lot of other players, like Deccan Charges had Shahid Afridi from Pakistan and Australia's Adam Gilchrist and Andrew Symonds.
How does Andrew Symonds represent the Deccan Chargers ideals and values? ... Do his qualities fit with our image? What’s our official stance on the shoulder-charging of streakers? Do we have one? Why don’t we have one? Let’s say that we’re pro shoulder-charging streakers so that we can sign Roy.
It's funny because Adam Gilchrist, Andrew Symonds and most of the support staff at the Deccan Chargers are some of my closest mates ... We might have a laugh in a few days time, but I'm not sure they will be laughing about it tonight.
Gilly is one of my best friends. It feels very strange to lead a team against his Chargers, which also includes my former teammate Andrew Symonds
So the shorter versions of the game is what he has right now and Andrew Symonds is probably in exactly the same boat. It's inevitable that it's going to happen
