Bristol is substantially above other British cities excluding London ... But we are guilty of hiding our light under a bushell. The success of the Banksy exhibition put Bristol in a different light. There are fantastic ingredients here for all sorts of events.
He was obviously going for the initial shot but it took the deflection and for him to get a hand to it the way he did having already committed himself to diving the other way was incredible. For me, it was like the Banksy save against Brazil. It was a miracle save.

Being a part of this project was a real honour. London is famous for the arts and Bristol's reputation is growing. Damien Hirst was born here, we have Banksy, the Royal West of England Academy, the Arnolfini and other projects going on all the time
The Banksy work has really caught the imagination and we will be keeping an open mind until the end of the public vote
