The biggest thing was that offensively we took so many bad shots ... That's the most shots a team of mine has taken since I've been here at UCLA, by 14. It was just way too many shots. Malcolm Lee took 23 shots. That's the most any player has taken since I've been the coach here at UCLA.

I look at guard play, and I think that's one thing Washington is going to have with (Venoy) Overton, Isaiah Thomas and (former UA recruit Abdul) Gaddy. Gaddy is going to be tremendous. I enjoy doing it ... I enjoy it because I go to the practices before the games and it gives me a chance to know coaches. When you're a coach at a school, you would never go to (UCLA's) Ben Howland's practices, or (Stanford's) Johnny Dawkins or (Northridge's) Bobby Braswell.

Ben Howland is a great coach and he also has a lot of good players ... Because so many great players have left the UCLA Bruins the last couple years, a lot of people think they're just not that strong. But when you've been in this business a few years, you see teams reload. UCLA is good and Ben Howland ...
It's a precursor to a stress fracture ... If he were to continue to play on that without taking time off, it would eventually become a stress fracture. We had one of these happen to (former Bruin) Arron Afflalo. He had a stress reaction because of the kind of shoe he was wearing, but it was in the summe...
we have a lot of work to do to be able to compete at all in the Pac-10 this coming season.
There's a lot of balance and parity in the conference ... Anybody can beat anybody on a given night in the Pac-10. That's one of the great things about this league.
