When I came in, I talked to coach Stew (Bill Stewart) about playing ... When I found out I wasn’t going to be eligible, I talked to coach again and he said I could do this. So I figured if I wanted to be involved in football, if I wanted to be a Mountaineer, this is what I had to do.

If we have 57 snaps against Cincinnati, it will be a mess
He's been hurt for two weeks ... He got beat up pretty good last week against South Florida. You cannot run a 5-foot-8, 178-pound man 30-35 times a game.
Brian Kelly has the tough decision. All we have to do is try and stop them
I'm not pleased we gave up touchdown passes, but if I listened to every person in the country other than myself, Brandon Hogan wouldn't be on the team ... I would have thrown him under the bus.
Come the second day, we [Stewart and Jordan] were tied and the [Franklin Springs] mayor went up by one. By Thursday, I was down by one

To honor Jasper Howard, we have decided with our administration, Connecticut’s administration and the Big East that the Mountaineers will wear Jasper’s No. 6 decal on our helmet
This is all about Jasper Howard and honoring a fallen brother ... I am very proud of the West Virginia and Connecticut administrations for helping us make this happen to honor Jasper.

The youngsters on our team from the Miami area who knew him took it very, very hard ... I’ll let it go at that. Our guys were quite shaken, as they should be. They really, really liked that young man immensely.
