Robert Frederick Zenon Geldof KBE, known as Bob Geldof (born 5 October 1951), is an Irish singer, songwriter, actor and political activist who became famous as a member of the rock band The Boomtown Rats. Late 1960s at Blackrock College: the journalist (Bill Graham), the rock-star big-mouth humanitarian (Bob Geldof) and the DJ (Dave Fanning). Was there something in the water in Williamstown? No. Everything was in the music.
All this is the fruit of the campaigning to drop the debt ... Ethiopia's annual interest on debt was slashed from $195m in 2001 to $86m in 2007. the extra money has gone into schools and hospitals.
