We pretty much did the same thing we did at Rutgers ... We kind of took them out of what they wanted to do, forced them out a little bit higher than they wanted to be, and the weave is not as effective when it's that far out on the floor. The first half, I thought we played pretty well, and we made some...

What frustrates me more than anything is we really try to teach them how to play the game the right way ... We have 13 more games to go and you don't want to get into bad habits.

If you watched him play in high school, he was happy to get 12, 14 (points), but if they needed him to get 30, he'd get 30
He's a talented guy. He needs to be a point guard, and he knows he needs to be a point guard, but he's never really been a point guard ... He gets better all the time and will continue to get better.
He is a great example to these other freshmen ... I told them the other day in practice, ‘Follow this guy around, man. You should be here when he’s here and you shouldn’t leave until after he leaves. Just watch what he does.’ When all those other guys are gone, he’s out there shooting the ball. That’s w...
He’s, I think, more versatile than a lot of those guys were ... Those guys were primarily paint guys. Obviously, there was only one Kenyon athletically, but (Jones) can step out and make shots a little bit better, but he’s probably not quite as good around the rim as some of them were.
And he probably changes another 10 ... He’s a factor. They have an exxperienced front line and they have youth, and that is a good combination.
I think he felt pressure to do things that were really out of character for him, a bit like Truck did in the Kent State game ... You’ve got to do what you’re good at doing and I think he’s very comfortable being Kevin Jones now and what Kevin Jones does.
We’re getting better ... We’re making rotations. We are obviously doing a much better job of rebounding the ball. When you don’t make any rotations it makes it really hard and it allows people to get easy shots.
Game in and game out Diggs has been their best player ... That’s a good front line.
Akron went down and beat Mississippi State ... That’s their only loss and then Mississippi State went up to New York and beat some really good people. (Akron coach) Keith (Dambrot) does a great job.
We’re going to go right at him ... We’re going to try and get Deniz (Kilicli) not to throw the grenade (left-handed hook shot) and maybe go a little stronger at him.
Deniz has just got to get his head up and make the easy ones he gets ... It’s not a matter of him getting open shots, he’s just got to make the quality shots that he’s getting.
Zeke Marshall is averaging five blocks per game and he changes probably another 10 ... He’s certainly a factor. They’ve got an experienced front line, and then they’ve got youth and that’s a good combination.
Gary’s playing harder ... He’s not taking plays off.
Our rotations are better ... They recognize a little bit better what we’re trying to do. We did a much better job against pressure. Our spacing was so much better. We weren’t standing on top of each other.
I just didn’t think our concentration was very good ... It’s kind of like getting the measles. It just spreads. I can’t shoot it for them. I can’t make them make free throws.
We chart free throws ... They make a minimum of 50 free throws in practice and I get what they make. And we don’t have anybody shooting less than 75 percent in practice. It’s kind of like getting the measles, it just spreads.
We knew they were going to pressure the whole game and we usually have some dumb attacks where we just stand and they really don’t play ... I think the hardest thing to do is to get guys to play through every possession and not take time off. I think we’re getting better.
We need to continue to get better ... We’ve got a heck of a stretch coming up. Akron’s good and then we’ve got a stretch of games that we need to win.
We have practiced it. We probably went with just doing the dummy stuff to get them to understand where to go to where it is becoming second nature to them ... We break it all down and then we put it all back together when we go five on five. I think we spent 25-30 minutes on it today.
I’m the one who said we need to play a couple of games here ... And I’m not sure maybe we should play here more.
We took better care of the ball and our spacing was so much better ... We looked up the floor better, but we’re still not very good at it.
